She went to great lengths to ensure that she got the shot, including rescheduling the date, hiding in a bush, and also mapping out where I should ask to get the best shot. We were visiting Maui for a vacation and with the help of the photographer was able to narrow down which beach I wanted to propose at. We then went there after I made up a fake excuse that I wanted to checkout this beach and cliff side. She of course fell for it and the rest is history. Sierra was fantastic to work with, giving us several choices of locations and offering advice for best time of day. We chose a beach and then close to the shoot she suggested a jungle backdrop as well, and did both. The jungle backdrop yielded the amazing photo that will now go on our mantle. We met in college during my Sophomore (her Freshman) year and have been dating ever since (8 years). I knew she was the one after we moved in together in our last year and realized that even being around each other 24/7 we still were best friends. My family had been planning a trip to Hawaii for a few years, so once the dates were finalized I knew there was no better place to propose than in Hawaii! I had some assistance from my fiance's family finding the right spot and it worked out perfectly. Coconuts, leis, and a beautiful Hawaiin backdrop. It could not have gone any better! We were already in Hawaii for a family trip, so it was the perfect opportunity. We took a tour of a local coconut farm called Punakea Palms. We had a bunch of fun learning about coconuts and then stepped just a few feet away to this breathtaking view and scenery. A great place to visit and do a proposal or even rent out for a wedding/private party. The photoshoot went great and our photographer Sierra was AMAZING. She hid in the bushes to get the perfect shot and then we had a ton of fun shooting photos with her after the big reveal. I would definitely recommend her if you're looking for someone on Maui. -Pierce

Samantha and I are travel nurses. We met working in an emergency department in Columbus, OH. I was a new nurse in a busy ER and she took me under her wing. We became fast friends and I really got to admire her as a nurse and as a person before we took the romantic plunge. When she made her move things were just perfect, and it’s been smooth sailing ever since. She is kind, funny, laid back, and adventurous. We recently made our dream of becoming travel nurses a reality. We both love the choose-your-own-adventure lifestyle it has given us. To celebrate completing our first contract together, we booked a trip to Maui, HI. I wanted to capture the moment of our proposal, to have photos to look back on for the rest of our lives. I booked Sierra as our proposal photographer. During our planning meeting, she was helpful with logistics and limitations to my plan for a sunrise proposal in Haleakala National Park. Sierra communicated well, shared helpful insight, and ensured she found the right couple on the big day. She hiked along behind us and got into perfect position when I got down on my knee to ask the question. During the photoshoot that followed, Sierra made Samantha and I feel so comfortable. This was our first time in front of a camera, and she made it feel like being there with a friend. She chose poses that were comfortable for us and encouraged us to provide input. I cannot say enough good things about Sierra’s work. She has a passion for what she does and it shows in the finished product. We met 2 years ago online. We both didn't know where it was going to go, but from meeting online and finding out how much we have in common to becoming not just lovers but best friends too. We both did not know love like this existed. I knew she was the one when I realized that I don't want to want to do anything without her and she doesn't want to do anything without me and the overwhelming support we have for each other. I wanted to capture the moment of the proposal to remember and share through photography. Not only was the proposal a secret, but so was the photography. Sierra our photographer was so great. Once I chose her as a photographer she communicated with me and coordinated seamlessly to capture the moment of the proposal. Sierra pretended to be a beachgoer and had her equipment in a basket, just until I got on my knee was the cue and she began taking photos. After I proposed I told my fiance that there was a photographer over my shoulder. It Sierra also gave directions and took many photos. We live in Colorado and have always wanted to have beach pictures taken, so it was the perfect chance when we booked our trip to Maui. This was our first family vacation by ourselves without friends or extended family. Our kids were tiny when they first saw the beach and the ocean, so it was all new to them.
