I’ve always loved the notion that each person sees the world differently. This is true in a biological sense as each eye functions just a little bit differently resulting in slightly different hues, depths of shadows, and sensitivity to light. It’s also true figuratively, the way that we interpret the world around us varies dramatically from person to person. We all pay attention to different things, value certain things over others, and have different opinions or memories related to what we see, resulting in billions of unique perceptions of the same world. My love for photography has always revolved around this idea. The ability to show another person your perspective and experience of a single moment in time has always felt incredibly powerful to me and I have pursued this avenue of communication and self expression relentlessly for most of my life. Today I am lucky enough to be able to spend most of my time capturing moments for some amazing people and companies as a freelance photographer. When I’m not making pictures I can be found at home in Charleston, South Carolina with my wife Jessica and our 2 crazy dogs Sully and Boo. Yes, we might be obsessed with Pixar. When I’m not shooting I spend my free time at concerts, hiking, baking, gardening, surfing, and fishing.
